Close to 25,000 Experiencing Electricity in South-East Queensland and Victorian Regions Following Intense Weather Systems
Approximately twenty-five thousand residences in south-east Queensland were left without power on Monday morning after intense storm systems impacted the region, generating powerful gusts hitting 109km/h.
Substantial Hailstones and Widespread Damage
Locals reported substantial frozen pellets measuring up to 7cm in some areas. The Bureau of Meteorology confirmed that various areas across the state had been impacted by large hailstones.

Response teams were working to restore power throughout the damaged zones, with dozens of response units deployed to manage the numerous electricity disruptions.
Victorian Climate Difficulties
Meanwhile, nearly 1,000 households in Victoria also faced power outages after the capital city experienced its heaviest rainfall in a year and a half.
Rescue organizations handled 598 requests for assistance across the region, mainly for structural issues but also for downed trees and inundation.

At the height on yesterday, in excess of 28k energy customers in Victoria were without power.
Meteorological Predictions
Moist weather were expected to linger along much of Queensland's east this coming days as a weather pattern continued to pull in damp air against the coast.
The following day was forecast to be the most rainy day, with continued storm activity predicted across different parts of both states.
Medical Alert
Medical authorities alerted that there was an higher risk of weather-related respiratory issues across the northern rural areas, particularly given the existing atmospheric conditions.
This warning comes after previous incidents where comparable situations led to significant health impacts in the area.
